Three of Hadassah’s Physicians Have Been Honored for Their Expertise
Three Hadassah University Medical Center physicians have been honored for their contributions to medicine: Prof. Neri Laufer (far left), Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Dr. Yehuda Ginosar (center), Director of the Mother and Child Anesthesia Center, Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine; and Prof. Eithan Galun, Director of the Goldyne Savad Institute of Gene Therapy.
Prof. Laufer received Israel’s Annual Medal of Distinction, presented by the Israeli Association for Medicine and Law, for his efforts to broaden the "window of opportunity for women,” his research and clinical work in the area of fertility and in vitro fertilization, his dedication to bringing modern medicine and health care to women in peripheral communities, and establishing multidisciplinary clinics for women with special needs. Prof. Ginosar was honored at the annual meeting of the International Anesthesia Research Society (IRAS) with the award for best basic research. His research focus is: "Changes in Placental and Fetal Organ Perfusion During Chronic Maternal Hypoxia in Mice: Assessment By Bold MRI During Brief Hypercapnic And Hyperoxic Challenge.” Prof. Galun has been named co-chair of one of the first four scientific groups to be established by the Government of Israel and Israel Council for Higher Education in its new Israeli Centers of Research Excellence (I-Core) program.
